Furatena embodies a fourth statement of modern and futuristic electro sound, this new reference by Binary Algorithms beckons intense electronic sounds, roughened textures and geometries that speak to a guiding point; “Identity and self in a cyber-network environment”.

‘Identity Crisis’ portrays deep philosophical questions and re-evaluate René Descartes view of the mind-body – “I think; therefore, I Am” – It is this fascinatingly loaded nature of ‘duality’, that allows Binary Algorithms to assume a fluid property of omnipresent relevance: questioning about the human condition, identity, technological hubris and let him points 2 modern question marks:

1_ If a cybernetic brain can set a personality, be aware of its own existence and create a soul by itself, then what is the point of being human? Is this the genesis of a new principle? I compute, therefore, I Am?
2_ If mind and conscience mechanisms can be replicated by A.I, what does the existence of consciousness mean?

This 3 track EP explores Descartes’ view of the mind-body duality with a thematic focus that posits a world in the near future, where human minds can be jacked into a vast cyber network, as well as operate cybernetic bodies. The fluid nature of the human mind and the discardable tool-like presence of the body then informs the discussion of what makes humans human, when the majority if not all their physical presence in reality is not of their own flesh.

The overall story is based on a Hegelian dialectical approach to the ontological questions about the human soul and A.I. with our possible self-improvement with machines.
